{ Tummy Troubles }

Hey fans, sorry for the gap in postings. I've had some tummy troubles lately which has really been cramping my style, so to speak. Thankfully, though, mom and dad have been giving me lots of candy at every meal to make me feel better. I especially like the ones that come in the container on the far left - they're hot pink!

The vet also told mom and dad that I might have food allergies (like my cousin, Rachael, who's allergic to food in general), so now I get DUCK and potatoes!! Now I can stop running after all of those birds I see on my walks (ha! j/k mom and dad--nice try). Now, maybe if I'm good I'll get some squirrel... Paws crossed.

{ Brunch with babies }

Woof! Wally here. Weekends are for brunching, right? So here's me on P Street having brunch again, this time with Matt, Sarah, Jessie and Mark - and the smaller humans are Charlotte and Delilah. I had eaten at home, but I indulged in a few cheese treats just so things wouldn't feel awkward. I liked P Street, and I hear the neighborhood near U Street is pretty cool too...

{ Brunch in my hood }

I love brunch. Its like second breakfast! This morning I took Jess and Mark to brunch to meet some other Wally fans - Andrew, Katherine and Brian. But I've had enough of this Bethesda nonsense - I wanted to show them MY hood, so we went to Bread and Chocolate in Chevy Chase. Mmmm. They had a water bowl for me (so thoughtful) and lots of kids to entertain me while they all ate bacon. Lots of bacon. Did I mention they only gave me water?

{ He's not Eric... }

...but Mark's pretty cool for a stand-in dad. We picked him up at the metro tonight and I got a chance to drag him around too. He kept trying to tell me how cool Bethesda is... I mean, dude! You *know* I'm a Chevy Chase dog...

{ Life in Flugge-world (Bethesda) }

So I'm hanging with the Flugges this weekend - its pretty chill. Tonight Jess and I took a loooong walk.

We did stop to smell the flowers...

...and I have a feeling she thought I would get tired - no dice, sister! I can pull on this leash for hours!

{ Groomed! }

Woof!! Wally here...its been a busy few days. On Thursday Lisa took me to the groomers...I have to admit - I look pretty adorable. Check it.

Then Jess picked me up...she didn't even recognize me! She thought I was a stuffed animal! Ha. I got a few licks in while she marveled over my soft fur.

{ License to Play }

I put my new DC dog license to good use this afternoon at the brand new S St. dog park that opened just yesterday. I got to hang out with the big city dogs, including Pippa, the very pretty cream labradoodle in the above photo (that's me in the brown, checking her out).

And catch this -- this park has special dog-only K9Grass. Back off humans! Look how plush and green this stuff is:

And did I mention the fresh DC water? Yum-o!

Look at that beautiful 14 carat gold shine...

{ Experiments in Digestion }

I just enjoyed the most scrumptious treat! It was like a candy bar, but makes my breath smell great. I wasted no time and downed it in under a minute. Not sure those Greenies folks know what they're talking about - it was great! Thanks Mom and Dad!

ATTENTION: As with any edible product, monitor your dog to ensure the treat is adequately chewed. Gulping any item can be harmful or even fatal to a dog.

{ Just Another Day at the Park }

Every morning Eric and I cruise on over to Livingston St. Park for a little play time. That's where all of my friends (and girlfriends) hang out and catch up on the latest goss--you know, who's eating what, walking where, the best new pee spots, etc. (same stuff humans talk about).

Here's the entrance. I can't read yet (for those of you wondering, I dictate this blog to Lisa), but I think it must say something like "Best Dog Park Ever: Be Prepared For Some Serious Fun."
And of course, the best part of the park is play time. Here's me and my bud Moby in action:

Did you happen to notice who won?

{ Copy Cat }

In an attempt to upstage me, Eric gets a new 'do, too. Sorry bud, mine still looks better.

{ I Heart Annapolis }

Top three reasons why I love Annapolis:

(1) Everyone there says I'm the cutest dog they've ever seen (they're right).

(2) Nearly every store has a bowl of water sitting outside just for me. The REALLY good stores have free treats waiting inside--I don't even have to be good to get one!

(3) Paws Pet Boutique. One of the best dog shops around, this place helps me maintain my cool, preppy style that gets me the looks.

Unfortunately, today I discovered one downfall of this lovely town. Eric tried to enlist me in the Navy. Bad Eric, bad.

{ A new 'do }

I need to fast forward to my 6 mo. birthday, which was yesterday (presents are still being accepted). Instead of a liver cake and candles, a big block of cheddar cheese or a fab new toy, Lisa and Eric decided to take me the groomer. Interesting choice.

So, that's where we went today. I got brushed, washed, cut and a full blow dry -it was actually pretty fun.

After 7 hours, Eric finally came to pick me up and I couldn't wait to show off my new 'do.

I'm a lot fluffier than I was before and somewhat resemble a carpet. Lisa says I smell good--like a laundromat--but she also dropped the "P" bomb. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. Poodle. I really hope my curls come back.

{ The Adventure Begins }

Lisa and Eric showed up on April 10, 2009.  They loaded me into their car and into my crate and off we went. And went. And went...

{ Mr. Universe }

So that's me as a puppy (NB: some would make the claim that I'm still a puppy, but really we all know I'm the best behaved dog at the park. I'm just sayin'...) I used to go by strictly "Universe" but I felt that intimidated people--especially my owners--so we agreed to change my first name to Wally and make Universe my middle name. Not nearly as manly, but it seems the ladies still like it, regardless.

I was the only chocolate pup in my litter (that's me, second from the left). Some say I'll look just like my mom, Myrtle. She's a beauty, huh? The nice folks at Hopewoods Labradoodles took care of me and my siblings until I was 11 weeks old. Then, Lisa and Eric came along and everything changed...

{ Hi, I'm Wally. And this is my story }

Let's start by setting the record straight: I'm a Labradoodle (the Australian variety), not a Portuguese Water Dog. I moved to Washington, D.C. nearly two months ago from Manahawkin, NJ, and this is the story of my adventures in our Nation's Capital with my owners, Lisa and Eric.

A little bit about Lisa and Eric. First off, Lisa smells reallllly good. Like flowers. I like flowers. And grass, and sticks, and pinecones. Oh, and dirty napkins I find on the street! Lisa likes to run, which means every morning she has the yummiest, saltiest face, legs, and arms which is just heaven. She also gives excellent belly scratches and does my hair every night.

Speaking of hair, then there's Eric. Eric thinks he and I have the same coat. He's nice and all, but someone needs to tell him that my coat is much nicer than his. Here, you decide:

The cool thing about Eric is that he gives me food I shouldn't eat (picture meaty ribs) and lets me stay up late. Plus, he doesn't use that silly clicker Lisa has in her hands 24/7. Not sure what's up with that.

Anyway, I'm nearing my 6 mo. birthday (t minus 7 days) and need to get you up to speed. For now, it's off to my evening walk and hopefully some solid poop (more about that, too...)
